Catching Up With Friends

Hammonasset Beach, Connecticut
Saturday the 7th through Wednesday the 11th we stayed in Connecticut near Hammonasset Beach. We were able to hike a trail on the beach which was beautiful and peaceful in the morning.  The first day we were in Connecticut it was warm and sunny but it rained most of the time after that. Michael was able to visit with his best friend Conrad and we were also able to have dinner with a couple named Adam and Christy who Mike biked with for a good chunk of his bicycle trip in 2011. It was nice to see familiar faces and meet new people on this trip. Sadly, I forgot to get pictures with Conrad as well as Adam and Christy. Whoops!
Here are pictures of the beach and the trail we hiked in Connecticut:

We left Connecticut Wednesday the 11th and drove to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania and stayed there the night of the 11th and left the morning of the 13th. The only reason we drove this way was because we were suppose to meet Michael’s brother, Phil and his wife Julie, to go white water rafting in Ohiopyle, Pennsylvania on the 13th and 14th. Unfortunately Thursday came along and we got a call from Phil saying the park wouldn’t allow us to go white water rafting this weekend because of how much it rained so our trip to Ohiopyle was cancelled. And unfortunately I didn’t get any pictures of us in Gettysburg because it basically poured rain the whole two days we were there (LOL) but that’s okay! “Count it all joy” Mike always says (well and the Bible too 🙂 ).
One picture I did get while we were in Gettysburg. Our campsite had a huge chess set, connect four set, shuffleboard set, and like 18 holes of putt putt golf! It was so neat! I’m bummed it poured the whole time we were there. We never got a chance to play! But at least I got a silly picture with the chess set! 🙂
